The Nkomazi Rate Payers Association (NRPAS) represents rate payers from Malelane, Hectorspruit, Marloth Park, Komatipoort, Nkomazi East and Nkomazi West.  It monitors and intends actively engaging with the Nkomazi Municipality and Provincial Government regarding matters affecting our district.

The committee includes and may further co-opt representatives from the above towns as well as from farmers associations and Nafcoc, is entitled to liaise with local and provincial government, to declare disputes, and to request for transparency and reports regarding the funds obtained via rates and taxes.

They may also bring an application on behalf of the members of the Association in a court of law or tribunal, for matters that may interest the members and (but not limited to) instances where a right or rights in terms of the Bill of Rights in the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa was infringed or threatened.

The Nkomazi Ratepayers Association currently subscribes to the tenets of the National Taxpayers Union, which currently has a member count of more than 300 ratepayers associations.
